In Person: Amarnath Praful on the Curricula for Lens-Based Practices
In the third episode of In Person, Amarnath Praful discusses the curricula for lens-based practices at the National Institute of Design. He speaks about how it is informed by the cultural dynamics of reception in South Asia and the process of reshaping and reframing cultural production. He also sheds light on some of the practices in the region that, to him, are the signals and signposts of the future.
Amarnath Praful is a visual artist, writer and teacher who primarily works with photography. His concerns are in the area of representational politics, history of photography in the subcontinent, intermedia image practices and cinema studies. Currently, he works as an Associate Faculty in the Photography Design Master’s programme at the National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar.
